Pagan Coffee Meet is the first and third Mondays of the Month, and will be Feb 6 and Feb 20th, from 630 to 830 pm.
Meditation Mornings will move to Saturdays, starting Jan 28th, 2012. This is a free event where people come and explore meditation as a practise. All levels of experience are welcome. If you want to try meditation for yourself, ask a few questions, or just give yourself the space to relax and unwind, this is for you. It is free to attend the event, and it starts 10:30 sharp for an hour.
There will be a Monthly Healer’s Clinic Afternoon on Sunday, February 26th. I am hoping to use the fourth Sunday in the month for the 3 hour clinic. The first clinic will be a review and discussion of Psychic Hygiene—What and Why it is Needed. This event is open to anyone who has training in an energy or alternative healing modality (reiki, healing touch, and shamanism, anything used). Please contact me or call me to confirm your attendance. Coffee and tea, and light refreshments served. There will be handouts. We will be taking a collection to off-set costs. If you do any kind of healing work either for family and friends or semi-professionally, this afternoon is for you.
The first Psychic Phenomena Night Meet Up will happen Thursday, February 23, 2012, at 6 30 pm. This is similar to Pagan coffee meet and greet, but will be for people in the community looking to meet up and talk about psychic things, such as ghosts, dowsing, auras, and so on. Coffee and tea are provided, it is pot luck cookies (nut free for this first one, please.)
And, Torey Lee is back with a Herbal Medicine Workshop on Garden Medicines—traditional plants and weeds. This class will be happening Saturday, February 25th, and will likely be a full day event. Check out the website for easy online payments, or come into the store to register. Seating is limited in this class, and please come and bring your questions. (Likely to be a fee of $100 for the day, and plan to spend the whole day in this workshop.) The workshop will include all kinds of recipes for oils, edible cough drops and more. You will not want to miss this one, as it is time to be planning spring and summer planting.
At this point, we are looking for expressions of interest from women, all walks of life, looking to improve themselves using a variety of modalities and engage in deep personal self-healing. The Women’s Self Development Group will meet in the evening at the store once a month and its costs will be a $50 art supply deposit, and $10 per session. IF you are interested in this opportunity, please call the store to be put on the interested list. We would love to have all women be invited to participate in this. We have a poster that you can use in your business or work place or to share with a friend who may be interested in this. The exact evening is to be determined, and if you have a preference, let us know. Both of the facilitators are highly skilled, and we are lucky to have them and this opportunity for women in our community.
Save the dates of Mar 3 and Mar 17th if you are interested in Reiki level 1 and level 2. These will be one full day each, 8 hours of training. We are offering attunement and training in Reiki at Levels I and II. Reiki is a "Japanese form of stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing." What makes Reiki unique is that it can be added to any other form of alternative healing practice, such as spiritual healing, crystal work, chakra balancing, meditation, aromatherapy, naturopathy, massage therapy, and homeopathy, for example. Reiki involves the transfer of energy through the practitioner to the client to enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself. In this way, it can also be combined with conventional treatments for illness, injury or rehabilitation.
Reiki utilizes specific techniques for restoring and balancing the natural life force energy within the body. It is a holistic, hands-on energy based approach that touches all levels: body, mind, and spirit. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is the Japanese word representing universal life energy.
Reiki abilities are passed on to students and practitioners using a process called attunement. Level I focuses on physical healing, and hands-on technique, with an introduction to energy medicine concepts.
Level II focuses on expanding the abilities of the practitioner, to the use of symbols, and begins the practices of mental and emotional healing. This level also increases the practitioner's capacity to transfer Reiki energy.
Level IIIa and IIIb are Mastery levels, which increase the understanding of energetic dynamics, involve the use of more symbols, and add the level of spiritual healing. The practitioner has a Mastery level capacity to transfer Reiki energy, and level IIIb is the level where the practitioner makes a commitment to the practice of Reiki, and enabled to attune and train others in the practise.
This outlines the practice of Usui style Reiki. An internet search will outline other styles as well, which differ slightly.
Level 1 is absolutely required for the Usui system of Reiki, as well as other reiki style healing systems. Level 1 comes with books, meditation CDs and a CD of additional material for you to challenge what can do use and do with Reiki, and includes the attunements. Level 2 extends your skills and includes book, materials and CDs. Level 2 requires that you have been attuned to level 1 before. Your investment will be for Level 1--$77, and Level 2 -- $167. To secure your seat, you can come in to pay a 50% deposit for the course.
